Syften alternative for teams who want ranked leads, not alerts
Syften is a good tool and we are not going to pretend otherwise. It watches more places than we do, it is faster than we are, and it costs less. If you want to know the second your product name shows up somewhere on the internet, buy Syften.
This page is for the other job. You don't want every mention. You want the handful of threads where someone is about to buy something, sorted so the best one is at the top.

What Syften does better
Coverage. Syften watches X, YouTube, podcasts, Bluesky, Mastodon, Slack communities, and newsletters. We watch none of those. If your buyers argue on X, that gap is real and it matters.
Speed. Syften targets a Reddit delay of under one minute. LeadSurface ingests hourly, because every post is classified before it reaches you. For support and PR monitoring, minutes matter. Use the fast tool.
Price. Syften starts at $29.95/month. We start at $49. If budget is the deciding factor, that's a fair reason to pick them.
Where LeadSurface is different
It decides what the conversation is. A keyword filter tells you the word appeared. Syften's AI layer then suppresses the obvious junk, which helps. LeadSurface goes a step further and puts a verdict on every post: this person is leaving a competitor, this one is comparing options, this one is complaining, this one is happy, this one is noise. Only two of those mean somebody is shopping right now.
The queue is ranked, not chronological. Signals are scored by intent, engagement, and how well the thread fits your category, so a furious complaint about software you don't sell gets ranked down instead of landing in your inbox at the same size as a real switching signal.
Every lead carries its receipt. The link goes back to the original thread, so your first message answers the person's actual problem in their own words.
Leads get an owner. Routing rules assign each lead to a rep by source, signal, or keyword. When a human reassigns one, that decision sticks and automatic routing won't undo it.
Nobody gets auto-DM'd. We surface the thread. You decide whether to join it, and you write the message. That's a deliberate limit, not a missing feature.
Which one you want
Pick Syften if you're monitoring a brand, need coverage on X or YouTube, need alerts in seconds, or want the cheapest way to watch a lot of keywords.
Pick LeadSurface if you're working a pipeline, your buyers are in developer and SaaS communities, and the problem you actually have is that a keyword search returns hundreds of results and you have no idea which six are worth reading.
Plenty of teams could run both. They aren't the same tool.
